It's walk day at Dino Parc! The masters are out and about, accompanied by their faithful pet Dino.
A competition soon ensues: which Dino will be the fastest to reach the park gates?
They all set off down the central alley, but watch out for Billy, the park keeper, who can't bear to see the dinos too far from their master!
In Baladino, players take on the role of masters who take their pet Dino for a ride. A race is organized in the central alley of Dino Park, and the first Dino to reach the end of the alley is declared the winner.
Each player must manage the progress of 2 pawns: his Dino pawn AND his Master pawn. To advance, players roll the die and move either their Dino or their Master piece. To win the game, only the Dino counter counts, and it would be logical to move only that counter, BUT that's where Billy, the park keeper, comes in! Billy is strict and can't stand the Dinos being too far from their Master.
When a player gets the whistle on the dice, if his Dino is more than 3 squares in front of his Master counter, he must move his Dino back to the same square as his Master. It's up to each player to use his or her own daring or cautious technique to move forward and win the race!
